We are absolutely thrilled to announce the promotion of Carl Burne to Managing Director of Area's Regional Studio in Windsor. Carl, who has been a valued member of the Area team for over 16 years, will step into this role, bringing a wealth of experience, dedication, and a deep understanding of our company's values and culture.
Carl's Journey with Area
Carl’s journey with us began 16 years ago as a Junior Telesales Representative at our former Egham studio. His talent for generating opportunities quickly led him to join our London-based team, where he thrived and honed his skills in identifying and nurturing business prospects.
After returning to Egham to lead the telesales team, Carl demonstrated his management abilities by supporting the development of his colleagues. He then took on the role of Project Director before transitioning into a Business Development role, where he focused on strengthening Area’s relationships with clients and professional teams.
Carl’s progression continued as he took on the role of Business Development Director, joining the Regional Board, playing a pivotal role in driving the company’s growth. During this period, he successfully navigated challenging market conditions, particularly throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, by maintaining strong relationships with existing clients and securing significant projects that kept the business moving forward.
Stepping into the New Role
Now, as Managing Director, Carl is excited to lead the Windsor team into the next chapter. He’s looking forward to working closely with Sion Davies, Managing Director of our London Studio, as well as our Mainland Europe team. Carl will also maintain a strong connection with Gary Chandler, CEO of our parent company, Fourfront Group, and our group brands – Sketch Studios and 360 Workplace – to support the growth and success of the entire organisation.
Carl's vision for the future is clear: he is determined to ensure that Area remains focused on the right opportunities, building a strong pipeline that will drive continued growth.
One of Carl’s main goals in his new role is to nurture and maintain the talented team in Windsor, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to excel. He is confident in the team's ability to identify and secure projects that will propel the business forward and is committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, supported, and ready to succeed.
