The Opportunity to Transform

Spanning 24,000 sq ft, the new space was designed with productivity and wellbeing at its core, targeting a BREEAM Very Good certification. Area was appointed to deliver the design and fitout in collaboration with Gensler and 360 Workplace, creating a workspace built for people, culture, and growth.

A Space Designed for Connection

The design embraces a palette of warm greens, timber, and soft neutral tones that mirror the company’s connection to nature and agriculture.

Across the floorplate, a mix of settings supports different ways of working. There are open-plan areas for focused work, collaboration zones with soft seating, and enclosed booths for private conversations or video calls. Meeting rooms are bright and contemporary, with views across the City, while social hubs and breakout spaces bring people together in a more relaxed setting.

Layers of greenery soften the industrial ceiling details, while lighting and acoustics have been carefully considered to create balance and comfort. Every element, from bespoke joinery to branded wall graphics, contributes to a workplace that feels both professional and personal – a true reflection of Cargill’s culture.

Making Change Work

The physical move was supported by a comprehensive change management programme. The approach centred on engagement and communication, ensuring employees felt informed and empowered throughout the transition.

Workshops, training sessions, and cultural engagement initiatives helped people shape how the new space would work for them. A network of change champions provided on-the-ground support, while regular updates and video content kept the wider team connected to the progress.
