Project of the Year – Positive Impact: Lenovo UK Headquarters

We are immensely proud to be nominated in the Positive Impact category. At Area, sustainability isn't just a buzzword; it's ingrained in our ethos and guides every aspect of our work. This recognition holds special meaning for us as it acknowledges a project that truly embodies our commitment to sustainability.

Check out the full Lenovo Farnborough case study here.

For Lenovo's UK headquarters in Farnborough, sustainability wasn't an afterthought—it was a guiding principle from start to finish. As a certified B Corp, we understand the critical importance of minimising our environmental footprint and maximising our positive impact on communities. This project allowed us to put these values into action in a tangible way.

In today's world, the theme of positive impact is particularly significant, with businesses increasingly expected to play a proactive role. Projects like Lenovo's UK Headquarters showcases how commercial interior design can be both aesthetically pleasing and environmentally responsible.

Sustainability extends beyond regulatory compliance; it's about embracing our responsibility to future generations and leaving behind a world better than we found it. We believe that every decision we make—from material selection to waste management—has the potential to make a difference. Our nomination in the Positive Impact category reaffirms our belief that sustainability is not just a choice; it's the only way forward.

Being recognised as a finalist for Practice of the Year is a significant milestone that speaks volumes about the dedication and passion of our team at Area. Design is not merely a profession for us; it's our driving force—a pursuit of innovation and excellence that motivates us every day.

Over the past year, we've spearheaded a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing our business while staying true to our core values of sustainability, employee empowerment, and continuous improvement. From the opening of our new London studio to the achievement of our B Corp status and the launch of our new learning and development programme, our commitment to excellence, sustainability, and employee wellbeing has never been stronger.

These initiatives underline our dedication to making a positive impact in our industry and beyond. As we continue to push the boundaries of design and strive for excellence, we remain committed in our mission to create spaces that inspire, uplift, and empower.
